OPEN LETTER REGARDING CLUB UPDATE WITH RESPECT TO MANDATED PROVINCE WIDE SHUT DOWN

Dear Members,

Both Luke and I would like to end this year with a heartfelt thank you and an overwhelming sense of gratitude towards our community, our staff and most importantly to you our valued members and in many ways our extended family. We often use this term “valued” and we want to stress how sincerely it is felt. Without your support there would not be a Northwood Club.

We know how difficult these past months have been on all families in our community and our lives. Being shut down without the ability to enjoy the family, friends and the things that bring us joy in any form has been a challenge (definition of understatement) and now with the most recent update from the Premier it has added to our stress. However, with the introduction of the vaccine we truly just need to hang on a little longer.
With the support and understanding from all of you we have been able to navigate an incredibly challenging year. Back in March we had to pivot to continue meeting the needs of you our members but also to meet our obligations as a business and employer in our community. Not only have we survived we have excelled in many areas such as Group Fitness (in the way of many new added classes and now Virtual Zoom classes in the last couple of months) the addition of our new integrated software system (allowing for better engagement with you our members), in addition to the delivery and installation of our new line up of Atlantis Strength Equipment and Watson Dumbbells. Through your support and continued patronage, we will get through these upcoming months, but only together. It is our intent to continue providing you with the best overall experience any fitness facility around can offer but mostly to exceed your expectations on all levels.
During this Province wide closure, we will continue offering several daily Virtual classes through our web-site and online booking calendar to help keep you engaged while we are temporarily closed.

At this time, we are again asking for your support in the way of continued “Voluntary” membership dues during the mandated Province wide shut down. Similar to the past closure any time paid for during the closure will be considered pre-paid membership and will be given back to you as “paid time” once we re-open our doors in January 2021. For those on Annual contracts this time will come back at the end of your financial obligation (once your 26 payments have been made).

To be transparent- the proceeds we receive during the closure will enable us to keep several group fitness classes running on a daily basis, our admin department will remain operational for ongoing membership support in addition to rent, utilities and other set monthly expenses including our newly acquired equipment.
We understand these times have been harder on some more than others and would not want to cause any further stress to your family and you so as mentioned above this is on a completely “Voluntary” basis. Should you wish to “Opt Out” of the continued pre-paid membership dues at this time we kindly ask you reach out to our Administrator by e-mail at admin@thenorthwoodfitnessclub.com by Wednesday December 23rd end of day.
On a final note we will not be accepting any NEW requests to “Freeze” memberships at this time. If you are on a current freeze you will not be affected so no need to respond. Should you wish to “Opt Out” simply e-mail Jill and you will be part of the mass “membership suspension” during the closure. Once we are given the green light to re-open, we will e-mail everyone with confirmation of the date and if you wish to place a freeze your membership at that time, we will gladly deal with you on an individual basis.
